CasaTorch Privacy Notice
The short version
CasaTorch runs on your hardware. Your accounts, settings, floor plans, photos, calendars and device data are stored there, in its data folder, and are not sent to us.
What this CasaTorch stores, on your hardware
- Accounts: names, usernames, e-mail addresses (optional), password hashes (never the password), encrypted authenticator secrets, hashed recovery codes, and whether each person accepted these terms and when.
- Sessions and security log: when and from which network address and browser someone signed in, signed out, failed to sign in, or changed security settings - so the owner can spot misuse. The log keeps the most recent 5,000 events.
- Your home: device names and states, floor plans and scans, photos you upload, calendars and reminders, and the settings you choose.
- Connections: sign-in tokens for services you connect (for example Home Assistant or Ring). Ring and power-company passwords are never stored.
What leaves your network, and only if you turn it on
- Sign in with Google: Google tells this CasaTorch your Google account ID, e-mail and name when you choose it. Google's privacy policy applies.
- AI assistant: your question and a short summary of your home's current state go to the AI provider you choose (for example Anthropic or OpenAI), under their terms; or to a model on your own network.
- Weather, news, sports, calendars: CasaTorch fetches these from their providers; weather uses your home's approximate location.
- Pro license checks happen offline - the key is verified on your hardware.
Us
We receive personal data only when you buy from us, contact support, join our Discord, or use our services (name, e-mail, order and payment details via our payment provider, and what you send us). Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete it.
Cameras and other people
If your cameras or sensors can see or record other people, you are responsible for following the privacy laws that apply where you live.
Children
CasaTorch accounts are created by the home's owner. Owners should only give accounts to children in line with the laws that apply to them.
